On Thursday, Feb. 1, Kean P.U.L.S.E. held its Black History Month Kickoff via YouTube to honor the culture and achievements of people of African descent. Spoken word, dances, singing and other festivities were displayed in this program.

On Friday, Feb. 5, Kean University hosted the annual Wear Red Day walk event to promote awareness for cardiovascular disease and the importance of a healthy heart. This interactive event allowed students to engage in fun activities from a virtual platform to help spread messages of positivity on how important it is to be physically active.

Welcome to the winner's circle. Premiere Stages has awarded their annual Bauer Boucher Awards to this year's recipients, Lucien Edme and Megan Hoche. Edme, part of Kean's Class of 2021 was the official student recipient for the award for his play, Councilman. On the other hand, Hoche has also received the Alumnus Award for her play titled, Forever Mom.

Brothers and sisters, it's that time of the year again so pump up the volume! On Wednesday, Jan. 27, the Greek Senate hosted this semester's Meet the Greeks event virtually. This is the second virtual Meet the Greeks and it was a success. Despite the new format, the show went on as organizations and students logged on to a night full of networking as well as introducing new members to become part of Greek life at Kean University.

In the fall of every academic year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens the process for students to determine their eligibility for financial aid which is done through an online form on the Federal Student Aid website.Having eligibility for financial aid helps students afford tuition costs as attending a university is costly and many expenses such as classes, supplies and housing must be paid for. Through FAFSA, students are able to receive scholarships and grants which is money they do not have to pay back. The university offers a number of resources for students to apply and receive free funding for their college experience.

Cougar Link is Kean University's interactive online hub for involvement on campus. Whether it be finding events virtually and in-person or joining a club/organization, Cougar Link has become one of the most essential tools for a successful college experience.

Cougar Link is a great resource for the Kean Community to utilize for various reasons. One of the main aspects of Cougar Link is that it lists all of the upcoming remote and in-person events hosted by various campus organizations and departments. This tool is a great way to get involved and stay connected, especially while being remote.

The Kean University Business Plan Competition is organized by the Kean School of Management and Marketing in the College of Business and Public Management. The competition encourages students to think innovatively and learn more about creating a business plan. This year’s competition was held on Dec 4. at 9 a.m., via Zoom.

As the fall semester nears its end, students are busy studying for exams, preparing for an unorthodox holiday season and trying to keep the stress away. This winter will be different, though, because of the isolation made necessary by Covid-19. For many, jobs as well as their classes have proceeded online - but, for the five-week space between semesters, staying in touch with peers and keeping up with the community will require some novelty.
