As people travel home to the embraces of their family this Thanksgiving, others must brace the cold and pangs of hunger. In the face of holiday excitement and cheer, the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) on behalf of the University, humbled the Kean community by bringing attention to the millions of homeless people through their Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Harwood Arena, the Greek community gathered for this semester's Meet the Greeks event! This was an opportunity for Kean students who might have been interested in joining the campus Greek community. Over 20 Greek organizations consisting of fraternities and sororities alike, all attended and presented their organizations for students to join.

Though the Kean Dance Marathon Hype Day occurred in October, the real Kickoff to Kean Dance Marathon season happened on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. During college hour from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m., games, performances and informational sessions about the coveted 12-hour dance marathon dedicated to raising money for the Children's Specialized Hospital were offered to the students and faculty of Kean University.

On Friday, Nov. 10, the Military Veterans Club held the Veterans Day Ceremony in the Miron Student Center room 228. Students, faculty, and veterans gathered together to honor our nation's soldiers.

Student Organization and funded groups gathered together in Miron Student Center (MSC), room 228 for the Fuzzy Friends community service project on Friday, Oct. 27. This community service project was done in conjunction with Family Promise.

Every year, Kean University does its absolute best to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness month. During the month of October, student groups and the Kean community have come together to create events and activities to get students and faculty to reach a goal of $5,000. As the month comes to an end, the Kean community can look back and see the many things they did to raise awareness and money to be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Premiere Stages, Kean University's professional theater company, will be accepting unproduced script submissions from Friday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Dec. 15 for its 14th annual Premiere Play Festival.

Kean students, faculty and alumni filled the Harwood Arena parking lots to full capacity during the homecoming tailgate Saturday, Oct. 7. Music from the acclaimed DJ Nix in The Mix, food and an abundance of fun was all available to the many people who attended the homecoming festival.

The Involvement Center just kicked off its first ever annual Involvement Games, beginning on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017. The beginning of the two-week event saw 10 student groups, ranging from different fraternities and sororities to student-ran organizations like the Anime Club. For these groups, cash prizes of $500 and $250 toward organizational promotional items and a pizza party await the three victors of this competition.
