Kean University students prepared for Homecoming 2017! With homecoming week came the pep rally, concert and tailgate from Thursday Oct. 5 to Saturday Oct. 7. The Pep Rally took place on Friday, Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

After an exhilarating first week of action, the Involvement Games have become compelling events to watch. From student organizations such as Men of Excellence and the African Student Association, to some of the campus's fraternities and sororities, such as Tau Kappa Epsilon and Nu Theta Chi, the past week saw each organization compete in various challenges and activities to gain points toward the grand prize of $500 to their respective organizations.

The Involvement Center just kicked off its first ever annual Involvement Games, beginning on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017. The beginning of the two-week event saw 10 student groups, ranging from different fraternities and sororities to student-ran organizations like the Anime Club. For these groups, cash prizes of $500 and $250 toward organizational promotional items and a pizza party await the three victors of this competition.

The annual Greek Senate Conference took place on Friday, Sept. 15 at the STEM auditorium and the Miron Student Center. Members of Greek organizations attended this event to learn how to be better Greeks not just for themselves but also for their fellow and future Greek members.

Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 served as National Constitution Day in the United States. In honor of this day, Kean University's Departments of History and Political Science, the College of Liberal Arts and the Kean University Pre-Law Society presented an hour-long lecture titled, "Resolving Constitutional Conflict: Separation of Powers in the Age of Trump," in the Liberty Hall Carriage House.

On Wednesday, September 13, students attended Meet the Greeks in the Harwood Arena. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., students were given the opportunity to meet the many different fraternities and sororities here at Kean University. The event was free to any student enrolled at Kean while guests were charged a $5 admission fee. All proceeds go to benefit Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) and the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ.
