Premiere Stages, Kean University's professional theater company, will be accepting unproduced script submissions from Friday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Dec. 15 for its 14th annual Premiere Play Festival.
The Prospering Above The Hardships (P.A.T.H.) organization, a student group aiming to incite change through mentorship and leadership, has developed at Kean University. Their objective is to give valuable life skills and studying habits to high school students in Newark, New Jersey.
Students and their families are invited to come out to Pumpkin Patch Day Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Liberty Hall museum. This annual celebration has grown into a favorite fall tradition.
Winners for homecoming king and queen were announced during halftime of the football game between Kean University and William Paterson University. On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, everyone who attended the game found out that the two lucky winners were Kevin Macalos for homecoming king and Fatizenebu Oyibo for homecoming queen.
Hundreds of students filled Wilkins Theater Oct. 5, 2017, as well-known hip-hop artists A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Don Q headlined the venue for Kean University's annual homecoming concert. Sponsored by the Student Organization of Kean University and coordinated by the Programming for Unique and Lively Student Experience (P.U.L.S.E) Organization, the yearly concert saw another fantastic turnout from 8 to 11 p.m. as concertgoers packed the stage as soon as the music began.
Wednesday, Oct. 4 is the official day of the 2017 year for the Mid-Autumn Festival, a holiday that is celebrated widely in East Asia. Also known as the Moon Festival, people from different parts of Asia come together with their family and friends to celebrate this day of harvest. In order to integrate this traditional holiday with Kean University students, Wenzhou-Kean University Student Association (WKUSA) hosted a Mid-Autumn Festival luncheon at the Miron Student Center (MSC) room 228.
On Thursday, Oct. 12 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m., the Rotaract Club is overseeing Purses for Progress. This event is centered around gathering purses filled with necessary female hygiene products for homeless women in the community. This event is sponsored by Residential Student Services.
Streams of pink filled the Miron Student Center (MSC) Atrium, as the fall semester saw the Breast Cancer Awareness Kickoff event take place on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. From 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., students and other members of the Kean community played fun and interesting games while donating toward the fight against Breast Cancer in a four hour festival dedicated to raise awareness about the disease.
Got Cougar Pride? Show it at this year's Pep Rally on Friday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Join students as they flood the Harwood Arena to hype up Cougar Athletics. The event is free, so the host Student Organization expects many students to pack the arena.
Besides the new eateries, new buildings and new events being added to Kean University's campus, the Cougar's Den in the Miron Student Center (MSC) has been remodeled and updated.
The Involvement Center just kicked off its first ever annual Involvement Games, beginning on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017. The beginning of the two-week event saw 10 student groups, ranging from different fraternities and sororities to student-ran organizations like the Anime Club. For these groups, cash prizes of $500 and $250 toward organizational promotional items and a pizza party await the three victors of this competition.

The annual Greek Senate Conference took place on Friday, Sept. 15 at the STEM auditorium and the Miron Student Center. Members of Greek organizations attended this event to learn how to be better Greeks not just for themselves but also for their fellow and future Greek members.
Kean University is an institution that prides itself on its ability to offer students different mechanisms to study and to learn. One of those mechanisms is located at the heart of the University in the Nancy Thompson Library.
On Wednesday, September 13, students attended Meet the Greeks in the Harwood Arena. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., students were given the opportunity to meet the many different fraternities and sororities here at Kean University. The event was free to any student enrolled at Kean while guests were charged a $5 admission fee. All proceeds go to benefit Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) and the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ.

Cougar Kick-Off was an amazing way to start the fall semester. Held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., the event was sponsored by Student Organization of Kean University with one main goal: to remind students that summer is not over yet.
Come out and join the festivities of Meet the Greeks which will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Harwood Arena hosted by the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS). The event will start at 5 p.m. and run until 10 p.m.
Finally introducing the cafe and bakery located in the North Avenue Academic Building (NAAB), Au Bon Pain is now open to all students and faculty.
