Kean University will begin taking senior portraits starting Monday Oct. 30, 2017 in the Miron Student Center (MSC) 228 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Senior portrait day is a time to make memories especially because students are leaving and starting new careers or pursuing new educational opportunities.

Streams of pink filled the Miron Student Center (MSC) Atrium, as the fall semester saw the Breast Cancer Awareness Kickoff event take place on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. From 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., students and other members of the Kean community played fun and interesting games while donating toward the fight against Breast Cancer in a four hour festival dedicated to raise awareness about the disease.

One of the most historical African-American novels, "The Hindered Hand" was written in 1905 by Sutton E. Griggs. During the time, Griggs published most of his own books as it was hard for him to find an audience. This novel was created as a response to Thomas Dixon's racial-baiting novel, "The Leopard's Spots."

DACA (Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals) students can find light outside of the darkness at Kean University. Dr. Frank Argote-Freyre, assistant professor of Latin American History, will moderate a panel of three DACA recipients and an immigration attorney during the Teach-In on Wednesday Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the Miron Student Center (MSC) Little Theatre.
