The Kean University School of General Studies hosted the Major and Minor Exploration Fair on Monday, Oct. 8 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in Downs Hall. Intending to help out students that may be uncertain about their intended area of study, over 40 majors and minors were represented.
The Center for International Studies hosted this semester’s Study Abroad Fair Sept. 27 in the Center for Academic Success (CAS) Atrium. The fair provided students with information and the opportunity to speak with representatives from the various study abroad programs students can take advantage of at Kean.

On Friday Sept. 14, Kean Day came to Cougar Walk. This lively event is hosted by the Miron Student Center (MSC) every fall semester and is one of the most popular events throughout the year. It allows student organizations and clubs of all types to present themselves to the student body in a fun and casual way. It gives everyone a chance to learn about all of the organizations that Kean has to offer.
On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, the Fall 2018 Kean University "Meet the Greeks" were held in Harwood Arena. Meet the Greeks provides students with the opportunity to meet the Greek organization members and learn all about Kean University's recognized Greek-letter organizations. Organizations were given the opportunity to step and stroll and introduce themselves to prospective members.
New for this fall semester is Cougar Hall, the latest residence hall for first-year students. Located in front of Harwood Arena, Cougar Hall seeks to be a stunning addition to the main campus.
Whether one is a new or returning student, they have a lot of fun and interesting activities to look forward to. An event that all students can anticipate is the Cougar Kick-off, which is sponsored by Student Organization and will start Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the Miron Student Center (MSC) Patio.
Kean University has established itself as a hub for education and continuous learning. This extends to young children through the Jumpstart program.
This past Thursday, May 3, fraternity Nu Delta Pi and sorority Chi Upsilon Sigma teamed up to hold the 5th annual Lupus Ball which is an event to honor and raise awareness for people suffering with lupus.
Kean University celebrated in another installment of their coveted Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) Friday, April 20, 2018. This 12-hour dance festival, complete with games, prizes, performances, informational booths and a multitude of music was the hottest attraction on the Kean campus from noon to midnight.
On Tuesday, April 17, 57 student volunteers were recognized for their commitment to servicing the community with an award ceremony and brunch.
Kean’s School of Management and Marketing hosted its Business Plan Competition finals in the Miron Student Center Little Theatre, April 12. The event allowed the various groups to present their business plans in front of a live audience and a panel of judges, and then the most promising groups were awarded a total of $10,000 in prizes.

Kean University will be hosting the finals of its annual Business Plan Competition Thursday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Little Theatre, Miron Student Center.
On the morning of Friday, March 23, hordes of college, high school, middle school and elementary school students packed the house in what was a memorable experience at the 11th annual Human Rights Conference, titled Seeking Refuge: Immigration and Forced Migration Around the World. Multiple human rights activists took the time to speak to all of the students who would then leave with a newfound knowledge about human rights and why it is necessary to prioritize.
