Freshmen, as well as new transfer students, moved into the Kean University residence halls on Sunday, August 28. The weekend was filled with games, activities, and presentations for the students to enjoy as well as bond with one another.
Kean University's Cougar Walk flooded with eager and curious students for the annual commencement of Kean Day, on September 9, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On April 6, 2016, the Kean University Leadership Institute along with the Military & Veterans Club is hosted a Military Ball to raise awareness and funds for the VA Hospital in East Orange, NJ. This organization offers services to veterans such as primary care, specialty doctors, rehabilitative programs, women’s health services and much more.

The Gold Leadership Institute gathered together to see how Kean University and the military coincide.
As the 2016-2017 school year comes to a close, Kean University takes a step back to evaluate the success of the school year. Thriving departments are housed all over Kean University, but this year in particular, the Greek life of Kean University has an outstanding repertoire of achievement from this year. This success was recognized at the annual Greek Awards Banquet.
Every year members of the Kean community gather to recognize Kean University students who demonstrate leadership, possess academic success and care for the community. TheWho’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award Dinner took place on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
The Kean University Alternative Spring Break project is an opportunity for volunteers to actively participate in community service projects of various forms. It is an opportunity to share a meaningful experience with Kean University students as well as contemplate the role of volunteerism in today's society. Volunteers will be visiting one or more work sites to assist rebuilds of homes as well as other volunteer projects. There is a wide array of tasks, including but not limited to, debris removal, painting, sheet rock removal/installation or general labor tasks and operations etc.
Kean Dance Marathon is a 12 hour event hosted by the Greek Senate, celebrating the year long fundraising efforts of students benefitting the Children’s Specialized Hospital.
Kean University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society (PRSSA) urges both students and faculty to join them for Kickin’ For Courage, a kickball tournament to support the veteran charity Bonds of Courage on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Jim Hynes Baseball Field of Kean University.
