On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, Kean University welcomed its largest freshman resident classes. In addition to getting to know each other, these new residents were able to learn about the Office of Residential Student Services, meet the staff and get to know the services available to them as students.

50 Incoming Freshmen apart of the Kean Leadership Institute spent their weekend at a leadership retreat where they got to meet other Kean leaders and take part in team building and leadership exercises to welcome them to their new home, Kean University.

On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, the Fall 2016 Kean University Meet the Greeks was held in Harwood Arena. Meet the Greeks provides students with the opportunity to meet the Greek organization members and learn about Kean's 33 recognized Greek-letter organizations. Organizations were given the opportunity to step and stroll and introduce themselves to prospective members.
Kean Day is designed to introduce, reacquaint and promote the campus experience to our students. Various organizations table and set up activities in order to get to know students. Free food, music, dancing, and a whole lot more! Kean Day was hosted on September 9th, 2016.
During the weekend of August 12, 2016, 53 new first-year Bronze student leaders came together for the T2K Bronze Freshman Leadership Retreat. The weekend is the official start of a student's participation in the Kean Leadership Institute. It is filled with activities, workshops and games to help the students bond, as well as get to know the campus.
Freshmen, as well as new transfer students, moved into the Kean University residence halls on Sunday, August 28. The weekend was filled with games, activities, and presentations for the students to enjoy as well as bond with one another.
