On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. hosted the event Writing Your Own Destiny: Pen to Paper in Miron Student Center, Room 315. Students filled the room to learn about mental health through a game of Jeopardy followed by a creative workshop.

On Monday, Nov. 4, after many weeks of midterms and trying to register for courses, the Biology Club hosted an event called Dunkin' for Pumpkins. It was a special occasion which took place in Bruce Hall Room 204 during which students had the opportunity to decorate their own pumpkins with a variety of tools.

New Jersey Blood Services and Kean University united on Thursday, Nov. 14, to host a university-wide blood drive. Located in the Miron Student Center (MSC), Room 228, this event lasted through most of the day, giving students and staff members the opportunity to donate at their convenience.

This past Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, Kean University's Pan African Student Union (P.A.S.U.) and the Poetry Club hosted Rap Meets Poetry in the Cougar's Den, an open mic where students came to showcase their talents while celebrating the art of music as well as poetry.

This past Tuesday, Oct. 29, an event called Midterm Meditation was held in the Nancy Thompson Library Learning Commons. The purpose of this event was to allow students to recharge and get in the right head space to take their midterms. Students know that when it comes time for tests, they tend to get easily overwhelmed and need ways to calm themselves down to be able to focus. At this event, attendees were educated on different forms of stress relievers, which allows them to have a clear mind when it comes time to work on their academics.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Kean University chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha - the Public Administration Honor Society - joined the Family Advocate Network Political Action Committee (FAN-PAC) to host the Children and Family Empowerment Project: Public Policy in Action; Advocacy in the Real World event. The symposium took place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Miron Student Center (MSC), Room 226, and was highlighted by a panel discussion featuring policy-makers, educators, legal experts and advocates. The event was an opportunity for the Kean student body, as well as other local interested guests, to learn more about public policy making and contributing to the public discussion.

The 2019 Homecoming Pep Rally continued the launch into Kean's Homecoming weekend. Starting at 6:00 p.m. in Harwood Arena, students anxiously awaited the kick-off to the biggest event of the year.

This past Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, the Office of Residential Student Services hosted an event in Rogers Hall's Community Center called "Melt It Out," where residents sat down and created their own melted crayon art to relieve stress from midterm exams.

The workshop held in the Center of Academic Success (CAS), Room 205 and was filled with a group of students eager to learn about how they could pursue their education in different countries.

This past Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, the Kean University Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program held its monthly yoga session. Because of inclement weather, instead of transpiring on the grass of the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons as planned, the session took place in the Nancy Thompson Learning Commons (NTLC), Room 116 and lasted 45 minutes.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, Kean University hosted its annual Homecoming. Students, faculty, alumni and staff alongside their families filled the parking lots of Harwood Arena and Kean Hall, expressing their Kean Pride through the enjoyment of family-friendly activities and cheering on the Kean Cougars Football team as they played Salisbury University.

International Pronouns Day is a day to learn more about pronouns and how to respect others, their gender identity and the pronouns they choose to go by. This year on Wednesday Oct. 16, Kean University held it's 2nd Annual Pronouns Day event in the North Avenue Academic Building (NAAB) from 11:00 a.m to 1:45 p.m.
