The last semester for college students can be a fruitful experience, as final classes, graduation pictures, cap-and-gown buying and plan-making for their big commencement ceremony all occur. This can also be a bittersweet and stressful time for students finishing up their undergraduate careers, with the pressures of finding a job after graduation and the need for the payment of student expenses just being some of the worries that seniors have before and after they get their degrees.
As a part of Unity Week, join in the celebration of diversity that is Kean University at CultureFest! On Tuesday, March 6, from 7Pm to 11PM, guests will be able to learn about as well as experience the many cultures that make up Kean through music, performances, and a cultural fashion show. Tickets are $5.00 for guests and free for students with a valid Kean ID. Come check it out!
What is SOTA? How does it have an impact on the Kean community? SOTA is the Student Occupational Therapy Association, and it allows students the opportunity to develop in their field.
The honor societies at Kean are organizations that separate the academically elite at Kean and gives them a space to come together and work as a group to help others through service and leadership. Venturing out into the unknown wilderness that this world has to offer can be a difficult task. The earth is vast with many things to see and witness, ranging from a variety of historical artifacts and nature's most beautiful creations to national landmarks. However, for college students, the time to travel and visually learn about the world around them is not plentiful. Homework assignments, deadlines, and the pressure to keep a balanced social and academic life can take away from one's exploration of the world. Therefore, some of life's greatest experiences are missed.
On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2016, the Spring 2018 Kean University "Meet the Greeks" were held in Harwood Arena. Meet the Greeks provides students with the opportunity to meet the Greek organization members and learn all about Kean University's recognized Greek-letter organizations. Paula Caffree is a senior at Kean University and she is the first biology major to intern at L'Oréal Company in Clark in the summer of 2017. Caffree is currently applying to graduate school to attain a master's degree in clinical research.
