As the weather continues to get warmer, spring sports at Kean are in full swing. With all of our athletics currently having more wins than losses, we have had a successful spring season and only plan on continuing this streak. All of the sports involved have been putting so much hard work and effort into this season, so let’s meet them!

Marketing EDGE has provided amazing scholarship opportunities for over 25 years, to aid students with their financial burdens, so they can focus their time on their academic studies. Between 1994-2021, $804,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 292 student recipients. Here at Kean, one of our very own marketing students was able to be a part of these statistics.

As Kean University celebrates Women’s history month, many events on campus are yet to take place in honor of our women. March is the month in order for our women around the world to be noticed and uplifted in everything they achieve daily. Women on campus are being celebrated with upcoming events held by many different organizations throughout the month of March.

The Human Rights Institute hosted a Civil Rights Journey over spring break. The group explored historic sites in Georgia and Alabama. On their trip, students learned about the history of the civil rights movement and how to become social justice activists and advocates.

Black History Month is dedicated to celebrating Black excellence and raising awareness of Black history. Kean University honors this month by showing support through events, discussions and programs. The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), the National Council of Negro Women and the Pan-African Student Union joined together to kick off Black History Month.

Career Services held an Essential Skills for Internships Workshop to inform Kean students on the skills needed to succeed in an internship and for the future.

Fall 2021 semester will be here before we know it and returning to campus during this time comes with mandatory measures. President Lamont O. Repollet, Ed.D. has followed in the footsteps of other universities in NJ, requiring that students coming back to campus in the fall must be vaccinated. With this announcement brings a lot of questions about the COVID 19 vaccine and the options available.

Kean Association of Marketing (KAM) just recently won the Marketing Madness competition after a month of many competitors who stepped up to the plate with the final decision being announced on April 2. The prize was $6,500 and an exclusive talk session with HP's Global Head of Design & Sustainability, Stacy Wolff.

The students of Kean University should strive to make their college careers memorable. While maintaining their academics as well as getting involved in clubs/organizations on campus, student leaders should always remember that the impact they leave can open the doors to beneficial opportunities. Live and from its virtual Zoom webinar, Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) launched its annual fundraiser for the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ on Friday, April 16, from 4 to 5 p.m. Hosted by the Greek Senate, the event was led by Graduate Intern for Greek Affairs Gabriella Lapointe with co-host, Delta Phi Epsilon senior, Katherine Lewandowski majoring in early childhood education and Assistant Director for Greek Life, Alex Louis. The marathon is regularly a 12-hour event that takes place at Harwood Arena on campus with dancing and singing but adjustments had to be altered due to the ongoing world crisis.

Student Health Services (SHS) and Kean University Peer Educators hosted a two-day event consisting of a movie-screening and a discussion panel about the film "Roll Red Roll". This movie was used to educate students on the importance of sexual assault. In these events, students could see the effects of sexual abuse and how to prevent this situation on campus.
