On Dec. 7, Professor Libbey’s Eat, Pray, Love section of the first-year seminar set up, Eat, Pray, Love The Experience, took place on the first floor of the Center for Academic Success (CAS) building. This event was inspired by the book, Eat, Pray, Love, a memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert about her journey to self-discovery. The mission of this event was to create an immersive experience for those who had not read the book and inspire them to go on their own journey of self-discovery.

The life of a college student involves many aspects of responsibility, like applying to scholarship opportunities and other financial aid resources. It can take hours trying to research different scholarships and time to apply to them. Gladly, Kean University offers multiple scholarship opportunities to those who want to apply on the the Kean University website.

It’s the holiday season and for many of us, it means eating good food with family, getting and receiving gifts and enjoying the winter break. However, many children don’t get to have this same luxury. But, lucky for them, Lesniak Institute's Operation Santa has the mission of bringing the holiday spirit to every little boy and girl.

On Nov. 23 from 3:15 to 5 p.m. The School of Management and Marketing at Kean University hosted the Business Analytics Forum in Hynes Hall on the sixth floor. The room overlooking the New York skyline was filled with students and faculty who were eager to learn more about analytics in modern day business corporations.

One of the many exciting experiences that come along with going to college is getting to be on one’s own and live on campus. Living on campus provides students with easy access to all that their school has to offer, while having a front row seat to their education. Being on campus also creates a bridge for students to meet new people and make long-lasting friendships during their time at school.

With the first semester at Kean halfway done, the time for student elections is upon us and everyone is eager to be back in person for this event. The class of 2025 are bright new faces on campus who can not wait to dive right into campus life and utilize student government to enact change in the community. The freshman class elections are the perfect place for these students to get involved and make sure that their voices and the ones of their peers are heard.

Students declared as undecided can look no further because the College of Liberal Arts has something new to share. The college is providing scholars with a chance to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. This innovative undergraduate program offers an opportunity for participants to gain knowledge in varying courses and to leave with an enhanced educational experience.

The 2021 freshmen class at Kean is very lucky to be able to enjoy their first year on campus after such a grueling year and a half online. This however, does not prevent them from having their own challenges as they try to adjust to college and life on campus. To provide some advice and helpful tips from those who were once in these freshmen’s shoes, an upperclassmen offered her words of wisdom.

With students returning to campus, sports at Kean University is in full swing and Women’s Volleyball is no exception. The girls have been doing amazing this season on and off of campus, giving their opponents a battle every-time they step onto the court. With only five more games left in their season, there's no telling what these Cougars will accomplish.

COVID-19 has greatly affected the lives of everyone since its emersion in 2020. Throughout this time, it has taken a countless amount of lives without any remorse. At Kean University, a memorial service was held to remember all who were lost due to this terrible disease.
