As winter break comes to an end, Kean students and staff will return to campus next week for the spring semester. Although in a different location this year, Greek Organizations are eager to showcase their chapters and get everyone involved for Meet the Greeks.
This event is held for students who are interested in Greek life, want to meet new people and/or be more involved in life on campus.
Meet the Greeks is going to be held on Wednesday Feb. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Miron Student Center, spanning from the atrium, Greek Lounge and Room 226. Only Kean students and staff are allowed at the event and can scan their event pass to get in. Masks will be required regardless of vaccination status.
Caroline Antonio, coordinator for student involvement at the Center for Leadership and Service explained, “The goal of Meet the Greeks is for the Kean Community to have a chance to meet our Greek members on campus and answer any questions they may have about Greek life.”
Students will have the chance to walk around this casual environment and learn about each Greek letter organization. From this students will be able to determine if they want to rush a sorority or fraternity and which one.
Any student wishing to pursue Greek Life, will have to meet the following requirements:
Having earned a 2.6 GPA
Completed 12 or more credits
Submitting a complete Prospective New Member Information Form
Including: full name, ID number and selected sorority or fraternity to the Center for Leadership and Service for approval
Attend a new member orientation
Students can find out more about the organizations they are interested in by looking on the @keangreeks instagram page, as well as the individual pages each sorority and fraternity have. Below are a list of organizations that will be at Meet the Greeks:
