The end of the Spring 2021 semester is quickly approaching and there are important dates that students should know about in preparation for the end of the semester.
Advisement Week for Fall 2021 begins March 22. During Advisement Week, students meet with their various advisors as they plan for the upcoming semester. It is important for students to meet with their advisors to make sure that they are on track to graduate, also if one has any questions about their major or minor.
The last day to withdraw from courses with “W” grade (no refund) is Thursday, April 1. “W” grades do not count against students’ grades and show that students at one point dropped a class they were previously enrolled in. Any students interested in dropping a course must email the registrar’s office at regme@kean.edu listing their name, student ID, class and section that they are trying to drop.
From Friday, April 2 to Sunday, April 4 the university will be closed for Easter Recess. There will be no classes held during that time.
On Monday, April 5, registration for Summer and Fall 2021 begin. Students need to make sure that any academic or financial holds are settled before registering for classes.
This year’s Research Days will be held virtually on Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28. This event provides students and faculty with an opportunity to showcase their research that they have conducted to the campus community. For more information, visit Kean University Research Days.
At the end of each semester, the university switches its schedule to make up for any missed days during the semester. This is to ensure that all classes have an equal amount of class meetings.
Tuesday, April 27 classes will follow a Friday schedule
Wednesday April 28 classes will follow a Monday schedule
The last day of the Spring 2021 semester is May 5. Additionally, Thursday, April 29 to Wednesday, May 5 is exam week. All classes will meet as scheduled. For more details, students can check out Kean’s Spring 2021 Academic Calendar.
Commencement 2021 to celebrate the class of 2021 will begin May 12 at Alumni Stadium and held at Union Campus. It is necessary for all graduating seniors to check their emails periodically because they will be receiving instructions about their graduation process.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tickets are being limited to two guests per student, however all ceremonies will be live streamed through the Kean University website. For more information about this year's ceremony, students can visit the commencement page.
