The Office of Student Government is currently accepting student applications for those who want to become more involved and play an active part in their time at Kean. They are looking for student volunteers that seek to have a voice on campus. The applications are due on Friday, March 6 by 2 p.m.
There are various branches of Student Government that are accepting applications, such as The Student Organization of Kean University (SO). They are currently looking for executive board members and senators. SO is known as the voice of the full-time undergraduate student body, and is comprised of elected officials. They ensure that the comments and concerns of these students are heard and strive to achieve their wants and needs.
The executive board positions available for SO are as follows:
- President
- Executive Vice-President
- Vice-President of Recognized Groups
- Vice-President of Programming
- Vice-President of Kean Ocean
- Treasurer
- Assistant Secretary
- Senior Class President
- Junior Class President
- Sophomore Class President
The Senior, Junior and Sophomore Class Officer positions available for each class for SO are as follows (1 per class):
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
The Senate positions available for SO are as follows:
- Senior Class Senators (9)
- Junior Class Senators (9)
- Sophomore Class Senators (9)
- Kean Ocean Class Senators (5)
To apply for one of the SO positions, visit the Office of Student Government on Cougar Link and scroll down to the 'forms' section. Select the 2020-2021 Annual Election STUDENT ORGANIZATION Executive Board and Senate Application' form. The form also outlines the criteria one must meet to apply as well as the position roles.
Another branch of Student Government that is currently looking for applications is the Graduate and Part-time Student Council (GPSC), which is made up of elected officials as well. They are responsible for students that fall under the category of graduate and part-time student because even though they may not be full-time undergraduate students, it is important that their needs still must be heard and met.
The positions available for GPSC are as follows:
- President
- Vice-President of Programming
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Part-time Undergraduate Student Council Representatives (3)
- Graduate or Part-time Student Council Representatives (20)

The final branch of Student Government that is looking for applications is the P.U.L.S.E. Programming Board, which stands for Programming for Unique and Lively Student Experience. It is their mission to build a sense of community and involvement through the events that they plan for student.
P.U.L.S.E. is currently looking for the following positions for three separate committees:
- Coordinator
- Assistant Coordinator
- Committee Members (5)
