The online student trustee election will take place beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, and will continue through 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21. All currently registered students are eligible to vote.
The Student Trustees serve as student representatives at the Kean University Board of Trustees. Two student representatives can be elected to the Board of Trustees where they will be the student vote in board decisions. The elected representatives have the same rights as other members of the board with the exception of participating in matters involving personnel of the University.
It is the time to elect new student trustees, the candidates are:
- Ashley Buchanan
- Tiffany Osoria
- Jose Salas
Each candidate is unique and eager to represent the Kean student community in meetings and decisions.
To be eligible for election to the Board of Trustees, these students must be full-time students in good standing with the University with no history of misconduct. Undergraduates must have maintained a GPA of 2.75 and have completed at least 30 degree credits. Graduate students must have maintained a grade point average of 3.0 and have completed at least 12 credits at Kean University.
The chosen students are elected to a two-year term to serve as an alternate member during the first year and as a voting member during their second year.
Be sure to vote in the Student Trustee Election and choose who will be a voice for the student community here at Kean. Tuesday, Feb. 20, through Wednesday, Feb. 21, beginning 9 a.m. Tuesday through 6 p.m. Wednesday. To vote in this election, please follow these steps during the election voting period:
- Go to Cougar Link through the Campus Life section of the Kean University homepage, www.kean.edu, or navigate there directly by going to http://kean.campuslabs.com/engage.
- Log in using your Kean Google username (without “@kean.edu”) and password. The login link is located on the top right of the Cougar Link page. If you have not activated your account, you will be prompted to complete a profile upon logging in for the first-time.
- Click the link for “VOTE NOW” for the Student Alternate Board of Trustees Representative - 2018 Special Election on the Cougar Link homepage.
- Follow the on screen instructions and make your ballot selections.
- Review your selections and click “VOTE” to officially cast your ballot.
You may also access the ballot directly by going to https://kean.campuslabs.com/engage/submitter/election/start/163361. Please note, you can only access the ballot during the set election dates and times and you must login before being able to vote.
