Welcome back, Cougars! It's time to celebrate this new year's new you with Greek Senate's Welcome Back party Thursday, Feb. 15 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Downs Hall.
The party is open to all. Kean students get discounted tickets of $5 (with 2 tickets allotted per Kean ID) and non-Kean students are $7 a ticket. Non-Kean students must show a valid State issued photo ID to receive their tickets. Admission is cash only and doors will close at 11:30 p.m. Anyone who isn't already on line by 11:30 p.m. will not be granted admittance.
All proceeds from this year's Welcome Back party will go toward Kean Dance Marathon (KDM). KDM is an event hosted by the Greek Senate for the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, New Jersey. It is a repeated event meant to help fund the ongoing costs of the children's medical treatments. The Children's Specialized Hospital caters to the needs of special needs children and those affected with life-long trauma to the body such as brain injury, spinal-cord injury, premature birth, developmental or learning disabilities, and more. It is an important hospital in its efforts to help and improve today's children for a better tomorrow.
KDM is intended to bring cheer to everyone involved. As contributors to the fundraiser, Welcome Back party attendees can enjoy dancing to their heart's content to high-energy rave music. This dance party provides the much needed stress relief students crave from their studies. It also lends itself to being a great night to meet new friends to ride out the year with. The Welcome Back party is not like any other dance party, either. There will also be body paint, LED glasses, glow-in-the-dark games, glow sticks, and more to further enrich the experience. Students can expect a long night of laughs and dance as opposed to their typical all-nighters and textbooks.
So get down with it at Downs Hall and at Greek Senate's Welcome Back party!
