Each academic year Kean Stage puts on spectacular shows ranging from professional musicians, dancers and orchestras to the Kean University student body choral and band ensembles.
For the month of April, Kean Stage will be hosting several shows on campus. Below is a list of Kean Stage shows that will occur in April:
Monday, April 17, 2017: The Percussion Ensemble of Kean University will perform in Wilkins Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy music created by a variety of percussion instruments that is played by Kean students. The Percussion Ensemble is directed by Professor James Musto. Tickets are free for this event.
Thursday, April 20, 2017: The Kean University Wind Ensemble will perform in Wilkins Theatre at 8 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Thomas Connors, the Wind Ensemble will play for those who attend a variety created from wind and percussion instruments made in the past 400 years. Tickets are free for this event.
Saturday, April 22, 2017: Billy Porter will be performing that night, starting at 7:30 p.m. in Enlow Recital Hall located on East Campus. Porter is a Tony and Grammy-winning artist and will perform for all who attend songs and stories that speak of his experience on the Great White Way. Get ready to hear iconic Broadway translated into genres like hip-hop, soul and African-American idioms. Tickets cost $45 to $60, but there are only a few seats left.
Sunday, April 23, 2017: The show Force Majeure will start at 3 p.m. This will be presented in the Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) Building auditorium. This film was awarded the Best Film Award at the 50th Guldbagge Awards, which was presented by the Swedish Film Institute, in 2014. The movie is about a family who goes on a skiing trip when an avalanche strikes. The father will have to make a decision that will affect the entire family in an unexpected way. Tickets are on sale now for $5.
Thursday, April 27, 2017: The Kean University Conservatory of Music Jazz Ensemble will perform at Wilkins Theatre at 7:30 p.m. The Jazz Ensemble will perform a variety of contemporary jazz pieces to standard big band pieces. Jazz bassist and Professor Andy Eulau will be directing the ensemble. The Jazz Ensemble performance is free.
Sunday, April 30, 2017: At 3 p.m., bring children in the grades of third through seventh to an electrifying performance at Wilkins Theatre. Arc Attack will be performing on April 30 and use high-tech wizardry to create an amazing performance kids will not want to miss. It cost between $12 to $20 to attend.
As noted there are plenty of performances that people can attend and enjoy.
