The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host its inaugural Sports Communication and Careers Panel Discussion on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., there are four panelists who will discuss the opportunities that can be presented in this field. This event will take place in room 106 of the Maxine and Jack Lane Center for Academic Success (CAS).
Students who are interested in the sports communication field and the potential career endeavors that come with the profession are encouraged to learn about the field.
Five panelists, each with experience working in sports media, will answer questions, provide insight and explain the field as they have experienced it.
The event, which is open to students, faculty, staff and alumni alike, will feature the following guests:
- Al Dukes, a Kean University alum and producer of the Boomer & Carton radio program on WFAN sports radio.
- Chris Brienza, vice president of Coyne Public Relation's Sports and Media practices and head of its New York City office.
- George Falkowski, formerly of the New England Sports Network and News 12 New Jersey for more than 30 years and an adjunct professor.
- Jerry Barca, author of "The Big Blue Wrecking Crew" and an adjunct professor.
The goal of this hour-long talk is to highlight the different career paths that those passionate about sports and communication can take.
