Each funded student organization at Kean University has the chance to order food for each meeting it hosts throughout a semester.
As of spring 2017, there are six food vendors that are available to order from for general body meetings. For events, there are 10 food vendors.
In order to request food for each meeting, any executive board member from a funded student organization can go to the Office of Student Government located in Miron Student Center (MSC) room 309 and acquire the neon-green food requisition form and the food order form.
The food requisition form must be properly filled out for an organization's student body meeting and list the meeting date. All this information must match the meeting dates that are listed on Cougar Link.
If a club wants to have different types of food every meeting, they must fill out multiple food order request forms. If not, one can be used throughout the entire semester.
The club must select a vendor under the general body meeting options and fill out the food order request forms. Food can be ordered from selected outside food vendors or Gourmet Dining.
Gourmet Dining is usually the most commonly used food vendor for events and meetings, but if students wish to use another vendor, there is a procedure they must follow.
Student organizations are not permitted to request food from outside vendors until they fill out a food service waiver. This food service waiver must only be filled out if Gourmet Dining cannot match the prices of the food requested or provide the food requested.
Once the waiver is filled out, it must be returned to the Office of Student Government and the club must look at the preferred food vendor list provided by the office. These forms must always be filled out before the start of the semester and must be approved to avoid any conflicts during the semester. Each semester has a different deadline that these forms must be completed by.
If there are any other questions or regards concerning food vendors not listed on the preferred food vendor list, the student organization must speak to the Office of Student Government to request arrangements and come to an agreement.
