If students are looking for ways to stay in shape, prevent that freshman 15 and embody an overall healthy lifestyle, look no further than Fit To Be Kean (FTBK) classes offered by Kean University Health Services.
Located in Downs Hall, a variety of fitness classes including Zumba, body blast, ultimate conditioning and many more are offered several days a week starting Monday, September 12, 2016, which are free to current Kean University students. No need to preregister for classes, so simply choose a class, bring Kean ID and prepare to sweat.
Associate Director of Health Services, Robin Mansfield, MSN, APN, works closely with FTBK.
"The mission of FTBK is to promote wellness by providing group exercise classes to Kean University students as an alternative or in addition to going to the gym," Mansfield said. "The program offers a variety of fun, quality aerobic and strength training classes taught by certified instructors."
FTBK currently has four trainers: Rachael, Tobe, James and Alexandria. Each trainer has different fitness certifications and teach classes that coordinate to their area of expertise.
Mansfield encourages all students, no matter what fitness level, to give FTBK classes a try.
"They offer high intensity classes for the veteran fitness enthusiasts but will also give lower intensity alternative for those who are new to group exercise," Mansfield said.
