Kean University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society (PRSSA) urges both students and faculty to join them for Kickin’ For Courage, a kickball tournament to support the veteran charity Bonds of Courage on Friday, April 29, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Jim Hynes Baseball Field of Kean University.
PRSSA is hosting this kickball tournament to benefit Bonds of Courage, a charity that helps returned veterans make the difficult transition from active duty to civilian living as they cope with the experience of war.
"I think I can speak for all of my colleagues when I say that it makes us proud to know that our students would be so willing to assist others in need -- especially our service men and women that are either serving abroad or have returned home,” said Professor and PRSSA Faculty Advisor Jeremiah Sullivan.
Money and items raised for the event will be directly donated to Bonds of Courage and to the non-profit’s beneficiaries. Established in 2004, Bonds of Courage supports troops, veterans and their families to help rebuild morale and meet needs in relation to jobs, health, families and finances.
Teams for the tournament will be composed of a minimum of nine individuals, but can include up to 13. The entry fee to play in the game is $5 per person, and spectators attending the event will have an admission of $3. Admission for the event includes pizza, beverages and maybe some secret prizes!
To RSVP for this exciting event, one can visit the event’s page on Cougar Link or feel free to contact Michael Canvoa, the Event Coordinator from the PRSSA.
Come out and kick for a cause!
