Many people want their voice to be heard, to help solve some issues they see on campus. So why not be that person to help solve the issues on campus? The Office of Student Government is looking for students to be a part of Student Organization, which has plenty of positions open for students. But before applying, make sure to take note of the guidelines mentioned below.

Students who want to be a part of Student Organization can begin applying today, and must complete their application by the deadline at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016. Applications will be on Cougar Link starting February 5, 2016, and in order for one to apply one must sign in to Cougar Link with his or her Kean University Google email username (with the omission of @kean.edu) and password. Once logged go to the Office of Student Government page and under documents one will find the application.

The positions available for students to apply are as listed below:

• President
• Executive Vice President
• Vice President of Funded Groups
• Vice President of Programming
• Vice President of Kean Ocean
• Assistant Secretary
• Treasurer
• Senior Class President
• Junior Class President
• Sophomore Class President
• Senior Class Vice President
• Junior Class Vice President
• Sophomore Class Vice President
• Nine Class Representatives
• Five Kean Ocean Council Representatives

All executive board members will get paid for their time on executive board.

All candidates will be interviewed by Student Organization. All interviews will be posted on the website of Kean Xchange, Kean Xchange’s YouTube channel, and Student Government’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram page. The interviews will be posted online no later than the week of March 21, 2016.

Only full-time undergraduate students can participate in the Student Organization elections, while all students can vote for the executive board positions. In order to vote students must log in to Cougar Link using his or her Kean Google email username and password. Once logged in there will be a banner stating information on how to vote. Voting begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, and ends at 6 p.m. on Wednesday April 6, 2016.
