December is a relaxing time of year as it marks the end of the semester. Students are loaded down with studying in the hopes of passing all their finals and are writing half a dozen papers as they turn struggling into an art form. The best part of this is all of this happens within the same week. Sounds like a relaxing and enjoyable time, right? Not so much.
The Office of Student Government recognizes the stress that consumes students the last couple of weeks in the semester and is taking action against it. On Thursday, December 10, 2015, students are encouraged to be recipients of free massages at Stress No More.
Students will be faced with one decision and one decision only: relax via chair massage or table massage. Most readers will now be thinking, “When and where can I get myself a free massage?” The masseuse will be at the Little Theatre lobby inside the Miron Student Center (MSC) from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“We host it close to the end of each semester so that students who are overwhelmed with finals, work and the rest of life's daily struggles can relax for a few minutes and de-stress,” Keani Esparra, a junior communication major and member of the Office of Student Government, said.
Feel more at ease going into the official week dedicated to finals. “We would like the students to gain some peace of mind and relax before their final exams,” Esparra said. “We understand that school can be stressful at times, so we want to be sure that students can relax.”
Before grabbing a number two pencil and that Scantron when finals week comes around, decompress and de-stress at Stress No More.
