New York Jets? Check. Tennessee Titans? Check. Kean University students? Check. On Sunday, December 13, 2015, the Graduate and Part-time Student Council (GPSC) is sponsoring a bus trip to the Jets-Titans game!
What better way to kick off finals week than going to a football game? Take an extended study break, get some fresh air and go enjoy some good old American football.
GPSC is selling tickets for the Jets-Titans game for $20. Students will be able to purchase tickets starting Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Wilkins Theatre Box Office. When going to purchase tickets, make sure to have filled out the Student Activity Participant Agreement (SAPA) Form. The form can be found on GPSC’s page on Cougar Link under the “Forms” tab.
No need to worry about getting to the game as transportation is provided to and from Metlife Stadium. The bus is to depart from Wilkins Theatre at 11:30 a.m., with kickoff at 1 p.m., and is expected to return at 7 p.m.
As if seeing the action live wasn’t enough, “Included in the $20 ticket, besides having a great time at the game, is a $10 food voucher,” Lawrence Owens, third semester master of public administration program student and Treasurer of GPSC, said. “They would be able to use this voucher at the stadium to buy food from the concession stands.” So students and their guests get to enjoy a professional game of football and some food? Don’t past this deal up!
But what happens if it rains or snows? Do not let the panic settle in just yet. As long as the weather does not warrant a game cancellation from the National Football League (NFL), students will still attend the game as planned. That being said, remember to bundle up in winter garb as the game will take place outside and it is expected to be chilly. “We are hoping for great weather that day, this way everyone who goes can enjoy in comfort,” Owens assured.
GPSC selected this game of all games to attend because of the talent on both teams this season. “[We] saw this game featuring [the] Jets, [which] is having a good season so far with a great defense, [go] up against [the] Titans, [which] has young star quarterback Marcus Mariota…(the reigning Heisman trophy winner in college last season)…[as] a great game to have as an event,” Owens said.
Time to break out the Jets and Titans jerseys Kean community and be ready to witness an action-packed game. As Owens said, “We are looking forward to seeing everyone there December 13 for a great time and great game!”
