Famous for its roster of historic guests (George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, for starters) and Victorian architecture, The Liberty Hall Museum is also home to multiple ghosts of America’s past.
For one night only, Liberty Hall Museum is opening its doors to the public for a night of ghost stories and paranormal experiences. On Friday, October 23, 2015, two ghost tours will be taking place one starting at 7 p.m. and another at 9 p.m.
Ticket prices vary with Liberty Hall Museum members/alumni/students admission being $18, children (16 and under) being $13, and non-affiliated adults being $20.
Reservations are required as spots fill up rather quickly. Please contact Liberty Hall Museum directly at 908-527-0400 for booking inquires. Light refreshments will be provided.
The museum has been around for over 200 years; concealing some of America’s history within its walls. The tour will begin with Liberty Hall Museum staff members recalling some of their most frightening encounters. Following this, participants will start their candlelit journey throughout the antiquated building guided by a staff member. Hopefully, those on the tour will be able to experience the super natural for themselves—adding to the Liberty Hall Museum’s archive of ghost stories.
The Liberty Hall Museum is not the Kean University’s only haunted location. According to Weird NJ, Wilkins Theatre is also plagued by a spirit known as George. The story goes that George was once an electrician who died on the job. His spirit continues to walk the halls of the theatre, playing pranks and jinxing productions. Other speculated sites of ghosts are Rogers Hall and Townley House, both located on the main campus.
Along with other events in the spirit of Halloween, Liberty Hall Museum will also be hosting a Pumpkin Patch Day on Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pumpkin Patch Day will feature fall activity favorites, such as pumpkin picking, carving, painting, hayrides, and much more. Admission for this event varies with $6 for adults and $12 for children; reservations are suggested but are not required.
