On Friday, October 23, 2015, to help the school spirit continue throughout the homecoming weekend, the Greek Senate will be hosting a Carnival Rio themed party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Downs Hall.
“We think that the party is a great way to conclude the first night of homecoming weekend,” comments Jordan Cahill, who is a Greek Life specialist at the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) and is currently a senior majoring in fine arts, “after the excitement of the pep rally and fireworks everyone can head over to the party to shake their feathers.”
Homecoming will begin on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 6 p.m. with the pep rally; followed by homecoming day which is Saturday, October 24, 2015. That Saturday students will be able to attend the tailgate party. The festivities kick-off starting at 10 a.m., which students and attendees are invited to play games and eat. All students and attendees will be able to enjoy the homecoming football game starting at 1 p.m. as the Kean University Cougars football team goes against the Salisbury Sea Gulls from Maryland.
The Greek Senate brings Carnival Rio to Downs Hall at 9 p.m.; so bring feathers and friends to dance the night away to Brazilian music on Friday night.
Tickets cost $5 for Kean University students and $7 for non-Kean University students. All proceeds collected that night will go towards the Kean Dance Marathon (KDM), an event Greek Senate hosts to help the fundraising effort that will go towards the Children Specialized Hospital.
Make sure to celebrate homecoming in Rio this year!
