On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Kean University Athletic Training Club will be hosting a dodgeball tournament at Harwood Arena. The cost to enter is $5 per participant and each team consists of six players.

“The tournament is to help raise money and support for the program,” said Mario Gencarelli, president of the Kean University Athletic Training club and senior athletic training major. “Events such as this will help fund our younger students to go to NATA (National Athletic Trainers’ Association) and EATA (Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association) in the future for clinical experience to help further their career[s] and growth.”

The theme for the tournament is modeled after the popular movie “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” starring Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller. “This is supposed to be something fun to combine the Kean community with D’Angola,” said Gencarelli. “It feels like we can be such an island from the rest of the university sometimes.”

Sign-ups can be carried out at a table in D’Angola throughout the days leading up to the event as well as a table at homecoming on Saturday, October 24, 2015.

There will be prizes for the winning team. The specifics as to what the prizes will be have yet to be determined.
