Come enjoy Hispanic food for breakfast on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, from 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and help celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Student Organization is hosting a Pop Up Breakfast, which will showcase traditional Hispanic food and coffee. Stop by the Kean Hall trolley stop as the Student Organization will also be giving away free gifts!

National Hispanic Heritage is known to be from September 15 through October 15. According to the website hispanicheritagemonth.org, National Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated since 1968 and it celebrates the independence of five Latin countries. September 15 is a symbolic day for the Latino countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua for the reason that September 15—September 16 in Mexico and September 18 in Chile--is their Independence Day.

Between July 1, 2012, and July 1, 2013, the Hispanic population in America grew an estimated 1.1 million people and the United States has the second highest Hispanic population in the world with about 54 million Hispanics.

So during the National Hispanic Heritage Month, enjoy the reason why it is a celebration and don’t forget to stop by the Kean Hall trolley stop on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
