Heritage is what makes a culture, and the people in return embrace it and make it thrive. Each year, September 15 through October 15 marks National Hispanic Heritage Month.
Student Organization would like acknowledge the Hispanic culture with all individuals, no matter what one’s heritage may be. On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, Grito de Poetas will take place in the Cougar’s Den from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Grito de Poetas translates to “cries of poets.” The event will consist of individuals from the Latin community expressing their thoughts and feelings through various mediums. Participants can share by way of written interpretations, poetry, and rap.
Coming together as a community will only strengthen the individual messages communicated during Grito de Poetas.
