Ladies, grab a pair of heels and leave the men at home because on the night of Friday, March 13, 2015 it is ladies’ night out. Liberty Hall Museum will be hosting the eventLadies’ Night Out: A Night of Vintage Fashion where all women can go out and relax.
Lacey Bongard, the coordinator of museum programs, said that Liberty Hall “wanted to host an event on women's fashion because we get a lot of questions and interest from our visitors about it while on tour. So we thought why not bring out some of our "show stopper" pieces for people to get a close up look at and admire the pieces. We will also have some accessories such as hair pieces and shoes on display!” Bongard continued to inform that the collection to be displayed is everything worn by the Kean Family, who lived at Liberty Hall until 1995. All belongings were left along with the Liberty Hall, when it was sold to Kean University.
Attendees will be able to enjoy the night with wine and cheese while looking at a collection of vintage clothing and accessories. Not only that but attendees will be able to receive information about the past two centuries fashion do’s and don’ts in an entertaining way. “We would love guests to come dressed in vintage clothing,” exclaims Bongard, “but if they choose not to, we plan on having an area where guests can try on a few reproductions of historical pieces such as a hoop skirt to see what it would have been like to wear one.”
