1. Empire
Terrance Howard stars as Lucious Lyon, a highly motivated and talented hip-hop artist who , tries to succeed in the music industry as he fulfills the role of CEO at Empire Entertainment. Unfortunately, he learns that he has been diagnosed with a disease that will affect his career. He fights to maintain success in the music business by preparing his three sons to replace him, but only one son will be able to take on the role. The show is scheduled to air on FOX on Wednesday, January 7.
2. Bordertown
Created by writer Mark Hentemann and creator Seth MacFarlane, Bordertown features two families living near the United States-Mexico border as next door neighbors. They share social interests and common conflicts with each other. There are two main characters in the show, Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzalez. Buckwald is a border agent, while Gonzalez is a hard-working immigrant who has lived in the United States for less than ten years. He enjoys spending leisure time with his family and strives to make the most out of his life. When the Buckwalds and Gonzalez family meet, they tell jokes to each other, make fun of their realities, and simply laugh with each other,. Make sure to watch Bordertown when it premieres in March 2015.
3. Agent Carter
Inspired by the Captain America films and created by Marvel Comics, Agent Carter focuses on. a single woman living in the 1940s, in the midst of the Second World War. As per her assignment, Margaret “Peggy” Carter is to secretly find destructive weapons hidden in society and dispose of their powers. Carter serves as a Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division [S.H.I.E.L.D.] agent for her boss Howard Stark and tries her best to protect individuals who need her help. There is one catch to the assignment: if Carter is caught performing the under wraps missions for Stark, she can be thrown into prison and face serious charges. By way of connecting the dots from Agent Carter to Captain America, Carter and Captain America form a close bond prior to his death. After she loses him in a tense battle, she becomes committed to her job and works hard to achieve her goal. Watch Agent Carter in action on Tuesday, January 6 at 8 p.m.
4. The Last Man on Earth
In the year of 2022, Will Forte will be the only human being living on Earth. After an unknown catastrophe wipes out all life forms on earth, Forte wanders the desolate land in search of any signs of surviving humanity. While looking high and low for fellow survivors, Forte also seeks to find answers to questions that relate to human life and the choices people make. Accompany Forte on his journey beginning on March 1, 2015 on FOX.
5. Wayward Pines
Based on the best-selling novel Pines by Blake Crouch, Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke investigates the mysterious disappearance of two federal agents and tries to make sense of the town he is in. After a truck suddenly crashes into his car, Burke wakes up and finds himself in the town’s hospital. As he struggles to learn the true mystery of the town Wayward Pines, more and more questions pile up and he is left confused. Watch Wayward Pines in January on FOX.
6. The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore
Scheduled to premiere on Comedy Central on January 19, The Nightly Show will succeed The Colbert Report, which will stop airing on December 18. The Nightly Show will be hosted by comedian Larry Wilmore, an alumni of the Daily Show. As a late night television talk show host, Wilmore will speak about current news and events pertaining to popular culture, providing diverse discussions that are best suitable for the landscape of late night television.
7. Better Call Saul
The story will focus on the life of Saul Goodman, a criminal attorney of New Mexico, and the distinguished roles he has played throughout his career. The show will be featured on February 8 as a part of AMC’s television series and will serve as the prequel of Breaking Bad.
