When it is time to study on campus, it is hard to find a quiet area.
The cafeteria is always filled with noise, and the library seems to have no place to study with the hustle and bustle of the Starbucks Cafe. Although Kean is a busy and sociable environment, there are also great places for students to study in between classes. Some of those locations are as follows:
- Nancy Thompson Library – The first floor of the library is ordinarily busy because of Starbucks, the computer labs and lounge area. However, the library has two floors that are just for studying. The second and third floors are known as quiet areas, allowing students a place to free their minds and have a successful study session.
- Hutchinson Student Organization study lounge – This is another great area for students to study between classes, especially if back-to-back classes are in the same building. This study lounge has plenty of chairs and tables for students to feel comfortable in as they study. The study lounge is located on the first floor of Hutchinson with the room number of J-11.
- Center for Academic Success (CAS) – To help enrich a student’s education, Kean University provides tutoring for all students. The CAS tutoring program is run by both professors and students alike, and helps students who are having difficulties in math and English. Tutoring is located on the first floor of CAS in rooms 111 and 112.
- All residence halls have lounges, and although it is not dedicated to studying, the lounges can be used for studying.
Lounges – There are many lounges located on campus that students can use to study as well.
These lounges are:
- Bruce/Townsend Lounge – Located in the hall between Townsend and Bruce.
- Townsend Lounge – Located on the first floor of Townsend.
- Hennings Hall – Located on the first floor of Hennings..
