Numerous parking lots frame the Kean University main campus for students and faculty to utilize. Parking lots on the East Campus, as well as neighboring Liberty Hall behind the Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics Education (STEM) site are a few additional locations to park.

Parking Decals

Proper parking decals are required to be posted on all vehicles located in the Kean University campus parking lots. By clicking here, decals can be requested free of charge after completing an online registration form. Within 48 hours of registering online, decals can be collected on the third floor of the Administration Building in the student accounting office. Financial obligations as well as class registration must be completed prior to obtaining a student parking decal.

Included with the parking decal will be instructions on how to properly display it. A vehicle will become subject to ticketing if it does not exhibit an appropriate decal or is parked outside of the designated parking area. Approval from the office of residential student services is needed for any freshman resident student before a parking pass can be issued, as freshman students are not permitted to have vehicles on campus.

Information indicated on each parking decal differs depending on the possessor. Student parking decals display the "Kean Cougar" while faculty and staff decals depict the Kean University seal. Commuting students are identified with a "C" followed by Resident students with an "R".

For more information about parking permits and regulations from the parking enforcement department, visit the third floor of the administration building or call 908-737-3240.

Parking Lots

Colored lines indicate where students and faculty are permitted to park. Vehicles with student parking decals must park within the white lines. Vehicles properly displaying faculty or staff parking decals are permitted to park in either white or yellow line spaces. In order to park in medical, handicapped, or state parking areas, a vehicle must display the proper permits or plates as well. Any vehicle that fails to present the accurate identification in order to park in Kean University parking locations will be subject to municipal summons and fines. All traffic regulations are expected to be obeyed while driving on campus and will be strongly enforced by the Kean University Police Department.
